Making matcha at home is both simple and deeply rewarding. With just a few tools and a moment of calm, you can create a beautifully smooth bowl of SHIN Matcha.
1. Prepare Your Tools
You’ll need:
-
A matcha bowl (chawan)
-
A bamboo whisk (chasen)
-
A matcha scoop or teaspoon
2. Add the Matcha
Measure 1–2 scoops (about 2 grams) of SHIN Matcha into your bowl.
3. Add Water
Heat water to 80°C — never boiling. Add 100 ml to the bowl.
This temperature preserves matcha’s flavour and aroma.
4. Whisk with Intention
Using your chasen, whisk in quick W or M motions until you see a nice foam layer.
5. Enjoy the Moment
Matcha is best enjoyed immediately. Take a breath, savour the aroma, and allow the moment to ground you — just as it has done in the Japanese tea ceremony.
With practice, this simple ritual becomes a calming part of your everyday routine — a small taste of Sadō at home.
6. Matcha Latte
For a matcha latte, feel free to choose your favourite milk/soy/oat milk (about 100 ml), and add the whisked matcha. Enjoy it.
